Phillip – Mansfield, Victoria (CS Series)
For Phillip and Heather Watkins, maintaining five acres was always going to require a machinery purchase. After comparing two other brands – one was too expensive and they’re still waiting for a quote for the other one – they ended up buying a Kioti CS2610 subcompact tractor with a mower deck and 4-in-1 loader from their local dealer in Mansfield. It’s fair to say they haven’t looked back.
“The Kioti CS2610 was quite economically priced and it’s good to drive. It handles the undulating terrain very well and the two-pedal transmission is excellent. We’ve cut the grass with it a few times. It’s a lot easier than trying to look after five acres with a domestic hand mower! The power steering is very responsive, and the mower deck height attachment and forward/reverse controls are very easy to use.
“I’ve been moving dirt around, laying pipework and backfilling the trench at our daughter’s place, too. I’m impressed with the tractor and it’s very economical with fuel. It seems to run on the smell of an oily rag.
“The CS2610 is solidly built and I think it’s going to give us a long service life. The mower deck on some brands can be a bit light in the metal work but this one is good and strong. We’re looking forward to doing much more with this tractor. We’ll probably get a post hole digger for it, too. And after the house has been built I’ll use the Kioti to prepare Heather’s flower gardens.
