Bob – Elphinstone, Victoria (DK Series)
At his local dealership the first things that really impressed Bob Franze about the Kioti DK5810 tractor were the stability and safety features. He also noticed the very reassuring engine noise; serious but not loud. With its 4-in-1 loader and backhoe, Bob does fencing contracting and also maintains his home acreage and neighbouring properties.
“I bought my first Kioti a decade ago, put it through some tough work and never had a problem with it. When I wanted a new tractor, I did some research on other brands to see what was out there but I’m a very safety conscious person and I like the Kioti build and design. The reliability of my previous Kioti was another reassuring factor.
“I’ve been using [the DK5810] for site levelling and doing footings for a building site. I’ve done a lot of slashing with it and also harrowing and spraying pasture with the boom spray. It’s a very versatile tractor.
“It’s very comfortable with excellent ease of access to the seat. I haven’t thought much about its fuel efficiency and haven’t noticed a difference; it seems the same as a much smaller machine. The bucket is fantastic for removing old fence posts and star posts. A lot of buckets aren’t accurate but this one is really precise in operation – I can do extremely fine work with it.
“The backhoe is also very precise and uses the power of the engine really well. It has a lot of grease points to keep it all well lubricated. It’s reassuring to find a tractor that has been designed with easy maintenance in mind.”
