Greg - Ladys Pass, Victoria (CK Series)
Greg Hems lives with his partner Diana on 15 acres at Ladys Pass, near Heathcote, Victoria, and needed a strong and versatile tractor to work the rolling, rocky terrain. Before buying, Greg did his research, comparing two other quality brands and visiting showrooms. He decided on a Kioti CK3010 compact tractor and is delighted with the results.
“We bought our CK3010 from a local Kioti dealer in Bendigo. They were much more enthusiastic about the sale and after sales service than other brands’ dealers we spoke to, and they are local. We got a 4-in-1 loader, post hole digger, slasher, rear forklift and backhoe with the tractor.
“Our first jobs with it were to slash the grass for fire reduction and dig a lot of post holes. It has worked very hard putting in fence lines. We’re doing all new fencing to get ready for future stock, maybe goats or alpacas. I haven’t used the backhoe much yet – I’ll use it when we’re laying irrigation pipes to allow standing water to run down to the dam.
“The CK3010 is a very good tractor and the power to the hydraulics and 4-in-1 bucket has allowed us to do some big clearing jobs. It has a strong build and we haven’t been able to break it yet! It feels very safe and stable on the uneven ground here. I thought it would be louder but it’s quiet to operate, and it gives good hours for the fuel it uses.
“The hydrostatic transmission is excellent and makes for much easier operation. We’re both impressed with what it can do and how easy it is to drive. The only problem I have is getting to it before Diana does – she really likes using it.”
